* Friday, July 6, 2007 * 24th May 07 - New York City Day 4 (a.k.a LASTTTTT day!!!!) the morning was spent walking thru Central Park which was the place that F.R.I.E.N.D.S is always filmed at. it's just basically a normal park, except that it's really huge. becoz i've been watching alot of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, it feels more like i'm visiting filming grounds or something... haha... imagine reading a book under these trees, that's life... =) it's a perfect place to spend your mornings walking your dog, reading a book under the trees, having a picnic... sounds totally like what i always read in books abt the parks in America. and look what we found! Diana Ross playground! we managed to make our way thru Central Park to the Metropolitan Musuem which is the largest museum in New York. i tot it was 10 times more interesting than the previous museum we went to, coz the exhibits inside are much more intriguing... the MET and right outside the museum was this really cool little stall that sells the scripts of movies and sitcoms like Harry Potter, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, grey anatomy etc... supa interesting!!!!! we spent abt 3 to 4 hrs at the museum... lazy to tok abt it... let the photos do the talkin haha... spot the odd one out The Egyptians: lotsa damn weird stuff, which looked kinda freaky too. how the hell can sculptures without heads look artistic or good anyway!??!?!! or mebbe i juz cant accept way too abstract art. they juz look freaky to me. and lots of coffins another weird-looking sculpture :: the mummy in me hmmm... i wonder if les realised that the body his head is leaning on, has boobs... haha... appreciating chinese chess and the ZEN style: we wanted to noe more abt the history and cultures displayed in the museum, so we were more den overjoyed when we found this really nice zen-looking library tucked in a corner of the museum... me and lijing spent abt more den 2hrs pouring over those thick hugeass books... haaz no juz kidding, but dun we look oh so natural?!? Paintings by Leonardo Da Vinci and his likes: Greek and Roman mythodology: forgot what this is, but it looks damn magnificent. and notice what les is looking at. haha... kissing in front of CUPID! Christianity section: Old English Victorian style: i love the old English style look, can't u totally imagine those English women in corsets and hugeass hats and flary big dresses sitting ard the fireplace? The Warriors: and more paintings: Musical Instruments section: and this is the weirdest musical instrument i see there... Oriental style We managed to finish the whole museum by abt 2pm, aft which it was a mad rush in Woodbury for clothes!!! wahahhaa... Woodbury is this really reaaaally huge shopping mall with tons of factory outlets selling brands like Gucci, Christian Dior, Coach etc... really supa cheap can!!!! even tho i dun go for branded stuff, u see the price u'll still be awed... Woodbury Common :: see all the greyish shops?!?! those are the factory outlets and we ate Philly Cheese Steaks there, which is supa delicious can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i haf no idea if it's the zhen zhong onez, but it tastes really superb! the mesh of cheese sauce and onions and mushrooms with that grilled beef patty is fantabulous. wahhaha... Philly Cheese Steak in New York and a peek at Times Square at nite... superbly beautiful! i wish spore has this kinda nite life, with public transport running 24hrs... haha... Times Square at night and some of the shops there which closes aft midnight... and things u'll nvr find in spore... Ferris Wheel in Toys 'R' us :: hugeass Hersheys syrup horse carriage on the roads :: Bubba Gump!!! (rem the show Forrest Gump? yepz!) the guys saluting that sort of summed up our 4 days in New York, which is short but really fulfilling! and travelling in small grps is really optimal for doing things fast, we managed to cover places in a total of 4 days, when normal ppl will take 8 days... and I really wanted to go Niagara Falls, but we had time constraints. anyway we'll be goin Grand Canyon, yes! grand canyon!!!! New York was really fun, more fun and interesting den i make it sound. haha trust me. but i'm really tired everytime i'm blogging so i dun haf the energy to write more or phrase everything in a more proper way haha... North Carolina trip entry coming up! |
