About 2 weeks ago (is it THAT long already?!!?), on 18th of July 2008,

HAPPY 3-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, DARLING!!!

You are now officially the longest-running boyfriend i've ever had, and also the guy whom i've been in love with for the longest time!

In case some of you are wondering... yes, that explains his msn nick "in record time" =)

with our very black hair!

(by the way, we went to JB just a few days ago to dye our hair brown with highlights. even though we chose the colours separately, i suspect we actually chose the same colours, his is prob just a shade lighter haha)

anyway, les was supa sweet, coz he went ahead and planned the entire evening. so first up on the program list is dinner at Phin's Steakhouse!!! coz he knows that i've been craving for steak constantly since i came back fr US. yes, it was one year ago, but still cravin nevertheless haha...

i have no idea why, but my face looks damn greasy in that photo... argh.

this is what happens when the food takes too long to come, and i'm hungry, and i had to endure the sight of the people sitting next to me happily ravishing their steaks.

and finally they arrive!

mussels in butter cream sauce!!! :: and the famous phin's flaming steak!

u noe how they flamed up the prawns for the seafood platter at Manhattan's?!?
ya it's the same for the steak here...

les's attempt at taking the process haha

the steak is damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn freaking goooooooood lar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a few days after that, i was suffering from withdrawal symptoms and i kept wanting to taste it again. -_-''

so after a supa filling meal, second on the program list was "The Dark Knight".
wah lao, it's one of the best movies i've seen so far! Together with Iron Man, i think having watched these 2 movies, have made me a very satisfied girl =)

Heath Ledger's acting was freaky and scary and unforgettable, and I applaud him for that. he left a tantalizing impression of him licking his lips in a really perverse way, and of coz his infamous quote "why so serioussss?!" which lester has been imitating again AND again in front of me. -_-'''

it was good lar. the plot. the characters. the acting. the flow.
i just thought the fighting scenes were just too messy.

so after 2.5 hours (yes, that's how long it is, and if u haven watched it yet, get a life and go buy a ticket and watch it already!!!! haha...), les brought me to this pub down the road called "Blu Jazz Cafe".

too bad there's no live band playing there, coz it was near 1am at that time already. but the place is pretty nice!!!

2nd storey of Blu Jazz Cafe

I've been drinking too much with my colleagues at Harry's every Friday nights. it's just downstairs my company. so i wasn't really into alcohol that night, and apparently so wasnt les.

so we actually ordered 2 milkshakes. haha...

with buffalo wings of coz! sorry, i'm a sucker for buffalo wings.

doesnt his smile look perverted on the left?!?

anyway, we cabbed back to his house aft tat. luckily for us, his hse is pretty near town, otherwise we would have gone broke juz by spending on cab every weekend night. -_-''

random photo i took while nua-ing on his bed

while he was bathing, i was supa bored, so i decided to take photos of the 3rd-year anni gifts we made/bought for each other!!!

i'm supa proud of the gift i made for him lar! coz i was stumped for ideas all the way till 3 days before the actual anni, and i had to rush here and there buying all the necessary materials, and i made the gift like the night before the actual day.

and ta-da!!!! presenting the snowglobe i made for him!!!

nice anot!!!!!! my ROLEX ppl thought i bought it! wahahha...

anyway it's really easy to make! the materials u'll need are just:

1) a transparent jar with airtight lid
2) water
3) glitter (i used white and silver)
4) styrofoam balls
5) decorative ornaments (i bought the figurines from this shop in Suntec and the penguins from Gift-A-Name)

seee! it's really easy to make, and the effects are nice! maybe next time i should try musical box, but i think that one too hard alr...

oh and the gift that i bought for him...

wah lao, spent a bomb lar! haha... but i knew he always wanted a camera since like maybe, last year? he wanted to take photos of his very last year in hall. frens who know stuff about me-him-hall will know how noble it is for me to actually buy a camera for him to fulfill that purpose.

anyway as much as i support Sony cameras (because they're so ever aesthetically prettttttyyy), i think the best thing about Canon cameras is the "colour accent" function. it's damn freakiing cool lar... we took a few photos with that function during our rolex outing, i'm gonna blog abt that soon.

and the gift he made for me!

it's simple and really beautiful, and i'm supa touched. because he's a damn damn damn damnnnnnn lazy person, who's too impatient to fold so many paper hearts. haha...

and a close-up of the gift...

do you see his name "LeSTer"? :: and now, do you see my name "wanYun"?

damn cool right! (he had help from Chang tho! haha)

and what he bought for me.

Dior Addict

but the limited edition was sold out already... =(
u noe the one with the necklace hanging around the neck of the bottle... damn nice lar, it has crystal diamantes on it onez...

dior addict smells really nice... there was once me and him went into Sasa just to try out all the fragrances, and i think this is still the best-smelling one, together with CK Euphoria...

oh and his personal buy which he got supa excited about...

Ipod classic

he bought it at a cheaper price, coz we didnt go Apple store, but went to those electronic shops along Sim Lim Square...

so he got like 2 new gadgets in a day... haha...

HAPPY 3RD-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AGAIN!

love
as simple and pure as that
=)

21st July 2008 - 23rd July 2008

was my finance band I college.

and because our singapore office is the headquarters for the region, the college was held right here in singapore. arghhhhh sianz.

so there were ppl flying fr australia, india, philippines, indo, malaysia, australia, new zealand, korea, japan, hongkong etc to singapore for this training.

wah lao - i also wanna fly... =((

anyway, it was supa fun because u got to interact with all these ppl from other ctys, and there were alot of interesting things that they told us about their cty. we even started to compare which country's employees put in the most number of hours everyday into work... haha... and there was a particular country that stood out, which i'm not goin to mention here.

but mental note to myself, i muz think twice if ever the company wants to relocate me there. haha...

and on the 2nd day night, we had a dinner and dance thing, at Grand Copthorne Hotel...

me and wanqing :: my "performance" team

we had 2 teams, the discussion team and performance team.
because we're each supposed to put up a performance on this 2nd day night, so the performance team had to think of stuff to put up, and we were only told on the day before lor!

but the performances were all pretty high standards! and my team won the "favourites" award!
all thanks to Daniel, our tall hunky australian team leader, wahahha...

but seriously, all credits to him lar haha...

more photos of my performance team...

after that, because zouk was next door, guess wat.

we all went there... all as in the entire college ppl... which was crazily huge grp...

zouk was closed on a tuesday night (i didnt noe that by the way, i always tot clubs are opened every night), so we went to velvet instead.

and because we mentioned our company's name, and we told the person how many ppl are coming, everyone had free entry. they actually waived off the cover charge for all of us lar!

my company ppl are crazy hyperactive ppl. that's all i can say after one night of clubbing with them. haaz.

and the next day's training, everyone came in looking damn shagged. haha...
we had amazing race in the afternoon!

me and my discussion team in front of ngee ann city

one of the activities was to take a grp photo with a singapore symbol. and we were too lazy to go all the way to esplanade to take photo with the merlion. so we went around, desperately tryin to look for singapore symbol to take with.

first up:

Singapore - the clean and green city!

next up!

Singapore - the "Fine" city

by the way, it was embarassing taking that photo on the train. i think ppl were staring haha...
oh and among my grp, there were 3 singaporeans, 1 malaysian, 1 indonesian, 1 japanese and 1 australian. talk about diversity, haha...

and lastly!

Singapore - the "Food Paradise"

we went to this chicken rice stall near our company for lunch, we were each given $10 for the amazing race, which we splurged on this lunch, it was damn gooooood lar!

the chicken was solid manz...

and no surprise, our team won!!!!!!
we were each given a bottle of O*** body foam and body butter (one of our company's brands, but i don't wanna mention the brand, because i don't want ppl googling that brand and stumbling onto my blog).

last day was saddening lar... u'll be surprised at how tight the bonds formed over merely 3 days can be... some of the ppl that i managed to grab hold of for photos before they fly back home.

Saeko - Japan :: Wembly - Indonesia

and finally, the 2 guys who cant stop teasing me during clubbing...

Daniel and Vic - Australia (they are freaking tall can!)

the best thing about working in this company, is you've colleagues all over the world, so no matter which country u go for hols, there's always friends u can meet there to bring you around. and no matter which country you get relocated to for work, u'll always see familiar faces there, that made u not feel so out of place.

.
.
.

2 months into working, and i realised as much as my company prob has one of the least office politics going around, there are STILL office politics going around.

2 months into working, and i realised that as much as i want to make friends, and not colleagues at the workplace, it is really hard and tiring and taxing to do that for every single person.

2 months into working, and i realised the most distasteful kinda colleague to have are those who talk alot, but do very little, and then end up snatching away all the credit (of coz the worst worst kind are those who backstab and betray you, but thank goodness, there hasnt been those kind in my company, not that i know of).

2 months into working, and i realised how some of my frens are being sucked into the vicious cycle of "work and work" and not much play, because they're always tired and always wantin to go home and slp early. which is really not very good for me, because i'm someone who want to play all the time. haha...

2 months into working, and i think i'm handling the work-life balance pretty well! =))

2 months into working, and i'm succeeding in not turning into typical office bums by exercising regularly, and going to gym and going yoga lessons and going sentosa pretty often (all thanks to my sec sch frens!). so i'm still tanned! wahahha...

2 months into working, and i realised i'm really really comfortable with the size of my present social life, sometimes i'm juz too lazy to try to expand it.

2 months into working, and i realised as much as i love my present lifestyle, and my company, and my job,

I STILL MISS SCHOOLING ALOT.

and it's hitting me really badly, as i see my frens getting ready to go back to sch.

suddenly, i want to walk along the corridors of NUS again (not as a visitor/guest, but as a student there), i want to eat at the canteens in NUS, i want to meet random friends for impromptu lunches at different canteens all over NUS, i want to feel that familiarity again, where i see friends everywhere i turn. i want to be able to go home anytime i want, and to wake up anytime i want. i want to be able to watch tv series till 4am everynight.

=(

Friday, 11th July 08

we had a BBQ at the newly renovated sembawang park (which is called something else actually, but i forgot what), complete with cartered BBQ food!!! i.e. no marinating or buying of food needed wahahha... but we need to bbq the food ourselves of coz.

i love BBQs lar... nvr miss any of them, unless i had no choice...

the newly renovated park

the park is pretty nice! and coz it's heartlandish, we were the only ones there... so we sort of had the entire park to ourselves...

the s5G ppl!!!! (with THE boyfriends... haha...)

the food was soooooooo much!!!!! i totally love the grilled crabsticks and the chicken and the stingrays and the sambal sotongs...

the stingrays were the ultimate best lar! seriously... and it was so nice of my frens to get the baked potatoes for me, coz i requested for them... haha...

sometimes i think i mite be americanish at heart, when it comes to food. i cant live without potatoes or cheese!

some of the leftover food

as usual, i forgot to take photos, until towards the end of everything... so all i can present to u all, is this damn cui photo of the leftover food, complete with chao tar-ed sausages... haha...

and den we had cheap cheeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaappppppppppppp Ben&Jerrys for dessert! all thanks to our dearest cheng hui, who got each tub for about $5!

the happy ppl indulging in Ben&Jerrys

Lester came specially for the ben&jerrys haha... look at his delighted face... hee...

and some random photos coz i was too full to eat anything and i love going around snapping at ppl... haha...

me and irritating SIM!!! :: the barbeque-rs

we had vodka too!!!! that totally explains Terry's red red face... altho he kept insisting it's tanned and not red... -_-'''

the entire night was damn fun lar!!!! complete with nonsensical conversations, updates about each other's lives, jokes, riddles and good foooooodddd!

and of coz, the bestest boyfren who accompanied me there! (altho i noe he went mainly for the ben&jerrys wahhaha)...

now, we're just waiting for SIM to organise the stayover at his hse, and the zouk night out!!!!!! WHEEEEEeee!

.
.
.

Saturday, 12th July 08

went out with les the next day... aft he came to my hse to stayover aft the BBQ... speaking of the stayover, he showed me this damn stoopid website with tons of interesting stuff on it... and we spent the entire night laughing over that website... i think it's oddees.com... check with him =)

we woke up the next morning and went to the gym near my hse!

i've started to gym pretty often again... the last time i had so much time to do this is prob like in year 2?! and we're both pretty obsessed with getting healthy and fit now (not by dieting, but by exercising), so it feels quite good to have gyming companion =))

anyway, aft tat we went to the food fest at Taka!!!

Taka FoodFest

this yr's foodfest is pretty small scale lar, compared to the past yr's at suntec convention hall... but food is still pretty goooooood!

it was a pretty cheap lunch for us coz we spent abt $10 in total and we ate tons of good food fr diff ctys... and they made us surprisingly bloated and full even tho the portions are pretty small...

his small face always makes my face looks so huge! arghhhhh!
and the reason why we look so sulky here is coz we were desperately tryin to take a photo in the midst of throngs of ppl pushing ard us -_-'''

went window shopping aft tat... and i found a potential "fashion statement"...

ta-da!!!!! NUM shades found in MOOKS store

u'll be surprised that u ACTUALLY still can see aft u put on those shades... and i kinda like it lar! it looks quirky and kinda weird but in a nice way. damn funky! i wan the yellow ones!!!!!!! aahaa...

CONVOCATION 08 for Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Environmental Engineering

my convocation day started off on a pretty bad start coz of the bloody cab which made me and my parents wait for 16mins!!!!!!! i called for it okay. and it was supposed to reach in 3 mins.

we waited for 3 mins, and den i decide to be nice and wait awhile more coz i noe traffic conditions are unpredictable. so we waited for another 7mins. and STILL NO CAB! so i called the company again and they double checked for me, and told me that the driver CLAIMED that he's stuck at a jam in Yew Tee (we were at Choa Chu Kang at that time) and will reach in 3 mins.

actually that sounded kinda weird alr, coz Yew Tee NEVER had a jam before BUT nvm, i decided to be nice STILL and gave him the benefit of doubt and so we waited.
oh by the way, fr Yew Tee to Choa Chu Kang shd take abt 1 min to reach.

BUTTTTTT we waited for bloody another 7mins. and by then i was hopping pissed coz it's 9.10am and i'm supposed to reach LATEST at 940am. so i called the company ready to explode. and they claimed they cant contact the cab driver. and they said "we'll send you a replacement cab now". wah laoooooooooooooooooooooooo.

i'm usually not so anal over these kinda things. but when i've something impt to attend and i'm in a rush, SO i call a cab right?!?!!??! that's the purpose of calling for one and paying that extra $3! and u still made me wait for 16mins, making me later than i would have if i had taken public transport. AND still wan me to pay that booking fee of $3 in the end. pissed.

aiya. but in the end i still paid. coz the driver of the replacement cab was very nice and very friendly and very sincere, and the whole thing wasnt his fault AT ALL, and i have a soft spot for old ppl who looks very chi xiang. =)

so safely at UCC for commencement!!!! the whole thing took surprisingly quick, only 1 hr 15 mins i think. luckily junli and alvin and jinxian and jinrui were all sitting near me, so i had entertainment for the entire ceremony (which would otherwise be shit boring) haha...

i was actually kinda nervous a few secs before i had to go on stage. coz suddenly i tot "what if i trip and fall?"... but anyway everything went smoothly and i got my degree scroll! =)

camwhoring aft commencement...

with my Chem Engin Class =)

prob like 1/3 of the entire class

the whole place was so chaotic and everyone looks the same to me, plus that stoopid mortar board (hat) was so cumbersome coz everytime u go too near to someone, both ur mortar boards will hit each other... -_-'''

anyway more photos with my class ppl!

me, qijun, qixiang, wanjun :: jon, qijun, me, jianbang, shuhui, wanjun

me and yongxiang (best frens!!!! thanks for everything =D) :: qixiang and me

jiaquan and me :: silk and me

qijun and me :: me and the huang siblings

anyway do you see that HUMONGOUS bouquet of flowers in my hands?!?!?!?!!?!?!? that's from dearest lester!!!!!!

you won't believe howwwwwwww freaking good it feels to come out from the commencement hall, all robed in ur grad gown and amidst the crowd, see your entire family standing there with your boyfriend, who's holding this huge bouquet of flowers in his hands and a gift in a bag, all smiling at you... =)

oh, i'll show you what the gift is later =)

and photos with other chem engin frens...

jinxian, alvin, me, jinrui :: chris and me

shiyao and me :: junli and me

and with my good girlfriends from chem/env engin... =)

me, shitian, zhi yi, cai lin

okay lar, there're more photos with other frens... but all look roughly the same... so i dun wanna bore u all haha...

photos with my family!

dearest family =))

me and mum :: me and dad

thanks for everything =)

me and sis (grad wannabe! haha) :: me and bro

and photos with my pillar of strength throughout the past 3 years (coz we got tgt only when i was in yr 2 haha)... i can safely say, it wont be so easy coming to where i am now, standing on stage receiving the scroll for second lower honors if it wasnt for you.

for frens who knew, i've been in 3rd class for the past few sems, clamouring to get to second lower coz it's so near yet so far. and seriously, sometimes it's not easy, coz it's so much more tempting to juz give up and be satisfied with a 3rd class...

but u had more faith in me den i ever had in myself, and that kept me goin... so half the degree scroll is yours!!!! haha =)

me, les, flowers and my graduation gift from him!

he was the sweetest during the entire commencement ceremony, coz he followed me around with my camera, and became my personal photographer for the entire day, which is why i was able to be supaly efficient and take photos with all the ppl tat i wanted to take with within a span of 1.5hrs =)

next yr, we'll take the same photos, but this time, with the robe on you! =)

and amidst all the chaos and photo-taking, i FINALLY managed to take a solo photo in my grad gown.

and my fav photo of the day!

my loved ones all framed up in a picture =)

anyway! the reason why i was kinda rushing through the photo-taking (and i'm sorry, i didnt managed to take photos with some of u, and i didnt managed to say bye before i left) is coz i made a table reservation at PRIMA TOWERS REVOLVING RESTAURANT for my family at 1.30pm!!!

it was a treat from me for my family of 5, my aunt and lester... coz i got my first pay sometime ago, and i thought it's perfect timing to treat all of them after commencement, since everyone took leave fr work/sch to come down for my ceremony, so they deserve something in return! haha...

us, awaiting the food!

the restaurant really does revolve!!!!!! i mean, when we first got into the restaurant, you cant really feel it... but after we sat down and ate for near to an hr, suddenly u realise the scenery outside has changed!

we started off looking at a scenery of construction works and containers... and aft awhile we were looking at beautiful beautiful sentosa! haha... but the revolution is really really really very slow and slight...

and some of the dishes that i REMEMBERED to take photos of! haha...

deep-fried garoupa with salt & pepper :: stewed pork ribs
authentic barbequed peking duck

wah lao! the food was freaking GOOOOOOOODDDDDDD okay!!!!!! go ask lester. he savoured every bite that he took haha... it was absolutely FANTASTIC lar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i took a set meal of 8-course... and this is the list of food we ate!!! (taken fr their website):

Shredded Scallops with Fish & Egg White
Fish Maw & Seafood in Thick Soup
Authentic Barbecued Peking Duck
Deep-fried Garoupa with Salt & Pepper
Stewed Pork Ribs (Served with Buns)
Stewed Combination of Four Vegetables with Dried Scallops
Fried duck meat with salted beansprouts
Red Bean Pancakes

superb okaaaayyyyy!!!!

my fav was the shredded scallops, and the soup and the peking duck!!!!

everyone's fav is the peking duck! it's like the best thing there lar!
actually i took my family to this place coz i first saw a tv show introducin the peking duck there... and i have a huge craving for it! u noe those barbequed duck skin wrapped together with celery and sweet sauce?!!??!?!

yeah! i totally love those!

anyway! more photos!

me and my aunt!

who bought me a COACH pouch for graduation gift =))
i never knew graduating can get me so many gifts wahhaha...

and a family photo, all of us feeling damn full and bloated haha...

i spent S$300 on this lunch, treating all 6 of them.
but when you look at their faces and the food all placed in front of us, it's all worth it... =)
totally.

we walked around vivocity for awhile aft tat, den my aunt treated all of us to Ben&Jerrys! hahaha... seriously, i think i put on like 2 kg just during that 2 hrs itself...

my family then brought all my stuff home, and i went out with lester haha...

on the train to PS!!! together with the little graduate!

les acting all stoopid with the little graduate!

didnt do much in town... coz town's soooooo uber boring!!!!!!! and we didnt feel like watching movie, neither do we feel like shopping... so we just walked around for awhile, ate SOME MORE desserts (haha!) then went home to rest...

i think the whole entire day was pretty tiring lar, somehow. even though we didnt do anything strenous... haha...

anyway!!!! stuff fr the dearest boy!!!

the humongous bouquet!!! :: the little graduate!

isnt the "me-to-you" bear damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn freaking cute!!!!!!

it even comes with a mortar board and a degree scroll lar!!! wah lao. so cute.
and the bouquet of flowers is humongous, it's the largest i've ever received from him haha...

according to him, he went to the florist and told the florist he wans the largest bouquet ever possible for graduation... haha... coz he claims that taking photos with a large bouquet is much much nicer (which is true by the way)...

so throughout the entire photo-taking session aft commencement, everytime he sees someone else with a bouquet, he'll gleefully point out that his is larger... -_-'''

haha... thanks for taking leave and coming down baby!!! i appreciate it! =)
and thanks for being oh-so-sweet and nice today (even tho u've always been that way =D)
MUAKSS!
