* Saturday, July 7, 2007 * Wizard World Madnesssss... Spoiler alert: Post ahead is for the true blue comic fan only. There comes a time where every man's boyhood dream becomes fulfilled. I've always been that geeky fan boy whose dream is to go for a huge comic convention here in the United States. And guess what? I finally lived my American dream. Before we left, a little surprise. Yeah me and Changqua (hahahah they got his name wrong again) did some hard work leading up to our trip to Philadelphia for Wizard World Philly 2007. We were duly rewarded. My mom's gonna be so proud. And so finally... We got here!!! Pennsylvania Convention Center... Home of Wizard World Philly 2007, June 15-17... The biggest comic convention this side of the world has. Got our passes for all 3 days... Yes only 3 days in the con can satisfy geeks like us. Didn't expect to see so many fanboys (and hot fan girls) like us too. Lots of original art, but oh so expensive. And yeah that's where all the artists gather. We go there for authographs and sketches. But no we don't stalk them in the bathrooms just so they can sign our t-shirts. We do it the civilised way... and stand in line for hours... but hey it's worth it =) Guest of honour Brian Michael Bendis... And fan favourite Michael Turner... The always late Humberto Ramos (who drew me a smokin' Wolverine) and the man who revolutionised the Incredible Hulk, Greg Pak... Inker extraodinare Jimmy Palmiotti... and Dustin Nguyan who was nice enough to give me a coloured head shot of Harley Quinn... Up and coming painter Paolo Rivera (and a great Ghostrider headshot)... and the ever friendly Angel Medina. Check out the awesome Spiderman he drew in the background... More sketches coming up from various artists below... Marvel Zombies cover artist extraodinare Arthur Suydam drew me a Spiderman... Joe Benitez did Darkness sketch... Tom Raney sketching Cyclops... While Deadpool artist Reilly Brown did what he did best... draw Deadpool... duh... haha ![]() Up and coming X-factor artist Khoi Pham with a great rendtion of Havok... and HOT Hot "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere... Shweeeeet... We saw many people dress up for the occasion too... ![]() That's ex-Hulk star Lou Ferringino. He was much bigger when he was younger and didn't even need any CGI to look like the Hulk. That's BIG. Oh and Blade said hi. ![]() ![]() That ain't no Johnny Depp, but I guess this Jack Sparrow is close enough. And so is this V from V for Vendetta. Hahaha gaaay Robin. Next to him: Not so gay monster who was pissed I called Robin gay. Hmmm maybe they came together or something... ![]() ![]() Usagi Yojimbo got himself (or itself... stupid bunny) a hot chick Elektra... And Soundwave told him how sad he was at being left out of the latest Transformers movie... PSYCHED... And so that ends my Wizard World adventure. Wish I could fit all the pics here, but I'm getting lazy... haha... Still it was a blast, and a dream come true =) In the mean time, a parting shot... ![]() Philly Cheese Steak... the real thing... So good everyone should just come Philadelphia for it... I'll be back Wizard World... That's a promise... |
