* Friday, August 10, 2007 * 7th July 07 - Byrd Theatre and Five Guys Carytown is this street with really quirky shops that sells things like old Victorian style clothes, handmade accessories etc etc... It's really not that interesting such that we can go back there so many times. but Richmond is a really boring place, so we dun really have much choice haha... went with Chang and Les coz it happened to be our off days... or rather, their off days and my unofficial off day... haha... my fav shop there! WORLD OF MIRTH! this is prob the best shop over there, they have all the weirdest stuff inside, and i esp love their costume-party hats!! u can juz spend an hr inside dressing up and u wun even get sick of it haha... fooling around went to this Chinese Takeout place to look for the rest... u noe how in movies and cartoons, they always have those chinese takeout boxes with ppl eating out of it? somehow Les was really excited at the idea of being able to mimic it. living his American dream (haa!) The Byrd Theatre is this supadupa nice place that screened old movies... not exactly very old either, prob only a few weeks later den the big cinemas... but the best thing is all movies go at USD1.99, which is S$3.50... u mite say, chey same as JB wat... but the theatre is so old Victorian style-like it's breathtaking... and makes the USD1.99 totally more den worth it... Byrd Theatre (at the bottom: all seats $1.99!!!) and this is what i'm tokin abt... we watched blades of glory, which was damn freaking hilarious... i dun think i've laughed so much at a movie before... and the show was good too, if u ignore the really cheesy and lame ending... rushed back to VCU area juz to eat Five Guys before it closed. it supposedly has the best burger and fries around Richmond area... but with everyone raving abt it, my expectations became higher, so when the food came, it was kind of a big disappointment. |
