* Tuesday, October 2, 2007 * 24th July 07 - Las Vegas Day 1 okie i noe it has been a long loooooong hiatus, schwork has been piling up like nobody's business... and project deadlines are slowly but surely suffocating me... =( anyway!!! here's 'Las Vegas, Baby!!!' for you!!!!!! we took an internal airflight from san francisco to las vegas, not exactly the cheapest transport... but den again, the cheapest transport, a.k.a. yucky smelly Greyhound bus, will take 14hrs to reach las vegas from SF... -_-''' sometimes we juz dun mind paying abit more... haha... view from the plane i was really really excited when i saw it!!! firstly, i'm someone who cant stand cold weather, which is why i'm usually near freezing most of the time in San Francisco (tho now i sorta miss that kinda weather), so when someone told me LV is practically burning hot, i'm totally looking forward to it! i love the SUN!!! secondly, i swear from the plane, we could see the whole view of Grand Canyon... not the photos above of coz, i couldnt take a proper clear shot... but there was this area which we flew past tat totally look like Grand Canyon!!! I was soooo excited I think i woke up Lester and the couple behind us... hee... and so we reached!!! Las Vegas USA Hostel we've been staying in USA Hostel in San Francs too... but the Las Vegas one has the most facilities... it has swimming pool and a net for water polo... and the best thing, it's so near Fremont Experience (which is this street of casinos which were first built in Las Vegas before all the themed-hotels came up)... ![]() the road just outside our hostel the first evening there, we took a walk down Fremont Street... and oooo isnt the weather hot! even the night air is warm... and some gigantic icons of Fremont Street... the beer jug is so tempting... u juz wanna down the whole thing... wahaha... we den went in search for our first best meal in Las Vegas... i dunno why, i always have this idea that things in Las Vegas will be damn freaking ex, since everyone there are tourists... and ppl who go LV are obviously ready to throw their money around. Man was i wrong or wat! we found our dinner, a buffet right smack in this grand-looking hotel that cost USD6!!!! tat's S$9!!!! it's a hotel buffet mind you!!!! with steak and fish and beef burgers and turkey etc... there's asian food and there's western food. with a nice table of desserts too!!! yummmmmmmmss... the hotel where we had our buffet fooling around in the casino that's lester with his humongous ice-cream from the buffet! oh and one more thing! limousines are abundant in las vegas... u turn right, u see one, u turn left, u see another one... u look behind, u see 3... it's like motorbikes in JB... ahahahaha... a wedding chapel limousine becoz the nite is young, by the way, the nite is always young in las vegas... we went down to the Strip!!!! where all the nicer casinos are, where all the themed hotels are, where all the PEOPLE are! along the Strip what can i say? the night view is awesome! we went to watch "Burlesque" at this place called Flamingo... "Burlesque" is this show which feature topless girls dancing... i dunno abt u guys, but this is a first for me, so it was totally an EYE-OPENER. Flamingo :: inside the theatre bottom left photo: that's us with the pole the girls danced with the show was awesome! no it wasnt sleazy at all. it was very professionally done... the girls do not look bitchy or slutty, neither do they look like they'll provide extra services aft the show. in fact once the curtains were down, they disappeared backstage and we were all ushered out. and their dances are superb!!!!!! it made the USD29 we paid SUPA worth it! and the guy at the entrance gave us VIP seats even tho our tickets say backrow seats. explored around Flamingo and saw this little place called Margaritaville... isnt it cute? it has beach chairs rite outside, reminds me of Hawaii somehow... and Margaritas in Las VEgas all go at USD0.99!!!!!!!! i love the place already. Marilyn Monroe fake one lar. muz pay money if wanna take photo with her... so we, like typical cheapskate singaporeans decided to stand at one corner and snap at her for free... wahahha... Stratosphere Hotel :: sleazy girls dancing see!!! those are the kind of 'dancing' that will provide extra services... anyway i think they look real stoopid in those cages. it's like an animal show. -_-''' and one of the grandest-looking hotels along the Strip - Caesars Palace! and more themed-hotels along the way... Paris :: Bellagio Eiffel Tower :: Mirage we went into each of those themed hotels to collect their poker chips coz their chips are all custom made according to the hotels... inside Mirage and this is inside Caesars Palace... bottom right photo: see the sunflower shadow??? i love this photo! and more... (all these photos are taken inside the hotel, it's unbelievably beautiful... u gotta see it for urself) some random shots along the Strip... erm.... i forgot what hotel this is!!! haha... there's juz too many... but i love their ceiling, really nice... posing outside Caesars Palace den we stumbled upon this whole area dedicated to the Beatles... haha... les went wild... he keep wanting to take photos of it... |
