* Thursday, July 31, 2008 * About 2 weeks ago (is it THAT long already?!!?), on 18th of July 2008, HAPPY 3-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, DARLING!!! You are now officially the longest-running boyfriend i've ever had, and also the guy whom i've been in love with for the longest time! In case some of you are wondering... yes, that explains his msn nick "in record time" =) (by the way, we went to JB just a few days ago to dye our hair brown with highlights. even though we chose the colours separately, i suspect we actually chose the same colours, his is prob just a shade lighter haha) anyway, les was supa sweet, coz he went ahead and planned the entire evening. so first up on the program list is dinner at Phin's Steakhouse!!! coz he knows that i've been craving for steak constantly since i came back fr US. yes, it was one year ago, but still cravin nevertheless haha... i have no idea why, but my face looks damn greasy in that photo... argh. this is what happens when the food takes too long to come, and i'm hungry, and i had to endure the sight of the people sitting next to me happily ravishing their steaks. and finally they arrive! u noe how they flamed up the prawns for the seafood platter at Manhattan's?!? ya it's the same for the steak here... the steak is damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn freaking goooooooood lar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a few days after that, i was suffering from withdrawal symptoms and i kept wanting to taste it again. -_-'' so after a supa filling meal, second on the program list was "The Dark Knight". wah lao, it's one of the best movies i've seen so far! Together with Iron Man, i think having watched these 2 movies, have made me a very satisfied girl =) Heath Ledger's acting was freaky and scary and unforgettable, and I applaud him for that. he left a tantalizing impression of him licking his lips in a really perverse way, and of coz his infamous quote "why so serioussss?!" which lester has been imitating again AND again in front of me. -_-''' it was good lar. the plot. the characters. the acting. the flow. i just thought the fighting scenes were just too messy. so after 2.5 hours (yes, that's how long it is, and if u haven watched it yet, get a life and go buy a ticket and watch it already!!!! haha...), les brought me to this pub down the road called "Blu Jazz Cafe". too bad there's no live band playing there, coz it was near 1am at that time already. but the place is pretty nice!!! I've been drinking too much with my colleagues at Harry's every Friday nights. it's just downstairs my company. so i wasn't really into alcohol that night, and apparently so wasnt les. so we actually ordered 2 milkshakes. haha... with buffalo wings of coz! sorry, i'm a sucker for buffalo wings. doesnt his smile look perverted on the left?!? anyway, we cabbed back to his house aft tat. luckily for us, his hse is pretty near town, otherwise we would have gone broke juz by spending on cab every weekend night. -_-'' while he was bathing, i was supa bored, so i decided to take photos of the 3rd-year anni gifts we made/bought for each other!!! i'm supa proud of the gift i made for him lar! coz i was stumped for ideas all the way till 3 days before the actual anni, and i had to rush here and there buying all the necessary materials, and i made the gift like the night before the actual day. and ta-da!!!! presenting the snowglobe i made for him!!! nice anot!!!!!! my ROLEX ppl thought i bought it! wahahha... anyway it's really easy to make! the materials u'll need are just: 1) a transparent jar with airtight lid 2) water 3) glitter (i used white and silver) 4) styrofoam balls 5) decorative ornaments (i bought the figurines from this shop in Suntec and the penguins from Gift-A-Name) seee! it's really easy to make, and the effects are nice! maybe next time i should try musical box, but i think that one too hard alr... oh and the gift that i bought for him... wah lao, spent a bomb lar! haha... but i knew he always wanted a camera since like maybe, last year? he wanted to take photos of his very last year in hall. frens who know stuff about me-him-hall will know how noble it is for me to actually buy a camera for him to fulfill that purpose. anyway as much as i support Sony cameras (because they're so ever aesthetically prettttttyyy), i think the best thing about Canon cameras is the "colour accent" function. it's damn freakiing cool lar... we took a few photos with that function during our rolex outing, i'm gonna blog abt that soon. and the gift he made for me! it's simple and really beautiful, and i'm supa touched. because he's a damn damn damn damnnnnnn lazy person, who's too impatient to fold so many paper hearts. haha... and a close-up of the gift... damn cool right! (he had help from Chang tho! haha) and what he bought for me. but the limited edition was sold out already... =( u noe the one with the necklace hanging around the neck of the bottle... damn nice lar, it has crystal diamantes on it onez... dior addict smells really nice... there was once me and him went into Sasa just to try out all the fragrances, and i think this is still the best-smelling one, together with CK Euphoria... oh and his personal buy which he got supa excited about... he bought it at a cheaper price, coz we didnt go Apple store, but went to those electronic shops along Sim Lim Square... so he got like 2 new gadgets in a day... haha... HAPPY 3RD-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AGAIN! love as simple and pure as that =) . . . 21st July 2008 - 23rd July 2008 was my finance band I college. and because our singapore office is the headquarters for the region, the college was held right here in singapore. arghhhhh sianz. so there were ppl flying fr australia, india, philippines, indo, malaysia, australia, new zealand, korea, japan, hongkong etc to singapore for this training. wah lao - i also wanna fly... =(( anyway, it was supa fun because u got to interact with all these ppl from other ctys, and there were alot of interesting things that they told us about their cty. we even started to compare which country's employees put in the most number of hours everyday into work... haha... and there was a particular country that stood out, which i'm not goin to mention here. but mental note to myself, i muz think twice if ever the company wants to relocate me there. haha... and on the 2nd day night, we had a dinner and dance thing, at Grand Copthorne Hotel... we had 2 teams, the discussion team and performance team. because we're each supposed to put up a performance on this 2nd day night, so the performance team had to think of stuff to put up, and we were only told on the day before lor! but the performances were all pretty high standards! and my team won the "favourites" award! all thanks to Daniel, our tall hunky australian team leader, wahahha... but seriously, all credits to him lar haha... more photos of my performance team... after that, because zouk was next door, guess wat. we all went there... all as in the entire college ppl... which was crazily huge grp... zouk was closed on a tuesday night (i didnt noe that by the way, i always tot clubs are opened every night), so we went to velvet instead. and because we mentioned our company's name, and we told the person how many ppl are coming, everyone had free entry. they actually waived off the cover charge for all of us lar! my company ppl are crazy hyperactive ppl. that's all i can say after one night of clubbing with them. haaz. and the next day's training, everyone came in looking damn shagged. haha... we had amazing race in the afternoon! one of the activities was to take a grp photo with a singapore symbol. and we were too lazy to go all the way to esplanade to take photo with the merlion. so we went around, desperately tryin to look for singapore symbol to take with. first up: next up! by the way, it was embarassing taking that photo on the train. i think ppl were staring haha... oh and among my grp, there were 3 singaporeans, 1 malaysian, 1 indonesian, 1 japanese and 1 australian. talk about diversity, haha... and lastly! we went to this chicken rice stall near our company for lunch, we were each given $10 for the amazing race, which we splurged on this lunch, it was damn gooooood lar! the chicken was solid manz... and no surprise, our team won!!!!!! we were each given a bottle of O*** body foam and body butter (one of our company's brands, but i don't wanna mention the brand, because i don't want ppl googling that brand and stumbling onto my blog). last day was saddening lar... u'll be surprised at how tight the bonds formed over merely 3 days can be... some of the ppl that i managed to grab hold of for photos before they fly back home. and finally, the 2 guys who cant stop teasing me during clubbing... the best thing about working in this company, is you've colleagues all over the world, so no matter which country u go for hols, there's always friends u can meet there to bring you around. and no matter which country you get relocated to for work, u'll always see familiar faces there, that made u not feel so out of place. . . . 2 months into working, and i realised as much as my company prob has one of the least office politics going around, there are STILL office politics going around. 2 months into working, and i realised that as much as i want to make friends, and not colleagues at the workplace, it is really hard and tiring and taxing to do that for every single person. 2 months into working, and i realised the most distasteful kinda colleague to have are those who talk alot, but do very little, and then end up snatching away all the credit (of coz the worst worst kind are those who backstab and betray you, but thank goodness, there hasnt been those kind in my company, not that i know of). 2 months into working, and i realised how some of my frens are being sucked into the vicious cycle of "work and work" and not much play, because they're always tired and always wantin to go home and slp early. which is really not very good for me, because i'm someone who want to play all the time. haha... 2 months into working, and i think i'm handling the work-life balance pretty well! =)) 2 months into working, and i'm succeeding in not turning into typical office bums by exercising regularly, and going to gym and going yoga lessons and going sentosa pretty often (all thanks to my sec sch frens!). so i'm still tanned! wahahha... 2 months into working, and i realised i'm really really comfortable with the size of my present social life, sometimes i'm juz too lazy to try to expand it. 2 months into working, and i realised as much as i love my present lifestyle, and my company, and my job, I STILL MISS SCHOOLING ALOT. and it's hitting me really badly, as i see my frens getting ready to go back to sch. suddenly, i want to walk along the corridors of NUS again (not as a visitor/guest, but as a student there), i want to eat at the canteens in NUS, i want to meet random friends for impromptu lunches at different canteens all over NUS, i want to feel that familiarity again, where i see friends everywhere i turn. i want to be able to go home anytime i want, and to wake up anytime i want. i want to be able to watch tv series till 4am everynight. =( |
