okay. finally i've got time to blog.

these few weeks have been crazy crazy crazy.
i admit it. i've been playing too much. -_-''
i think i'm burnt out fr playing actually.

then this week came, and work is drowning me. so NOW i'm burnt out from playing n from working. arghhhh! i need to slp 12hrs a day.

anyway long long post. many many photos ahead!



We finally made true to our promise to have a girls night out together. haha... yes, without the boyfriends hee...

we're all so busy, we need to pre-book each other, like weeks ahead haha...

so ta-da! braced an hr of bad traffic fr NUS to town in jun's car to get to SAKAE SUSHI.
we were supa starving by the time we got there lar!




Sakae has new varieties of sushi by the way. =)



had a s5G gathering, which ended up being an all-girls gathering because the 2 guys in our clique are either in France or in NTU being too bogged down by projects. haha...

anyway, we went to this mexican place in Holland V called El Patio, coz both me and cai were supa craving for mexican food haha... now, everytime i eat mexican food, i'm filled with nostalgic memories of the 3 months in USA.

the food there was really good! much better than i had expected. and they had free flow of nachos and salsa, the speed at which they refill it is amazing. we actually had to help stop each other fr eating too much nachos, before the main courses come haha...




freaking nice can! i love the mashed-up beans and the guacamole. those are the mexican signatures.

les joined us after that and we went over to this atas atas looking cafe called 2AM.




the place looked really really nice. and expensive too. they have these supa comfortable couches at the side, where u can just take off ur footwear and curl up on it.



we ordered 3 different desserts to be shared, because they're not exactly very cheap. and when they finally arrived, the only thought that went through my mind was "what pretentious amounts". haha...




the chef was damn professional and sincere, coz she actually came over and explained and described to us what was in those desserts. and wahz lao, they taste heavenly lar!

my fav is the cheesy thing in the top right photo. that is superb. i dunno what cheese they used, but it's out-of-this-world man.

anyway! they surprised me with a bdae gift!!!!! so the outing was supposed to celeb my bdae, tat's so sweet... hhaaha... =D



so the night before my bdae, lester came over to my hse so that i can spend my fav day of the year with the fav ppl of my life - my family and les.

u noe, when it comes to bdaes, nothing is better than to have a bdae cake lighted with candles in front of u, and than to look up and see your loved ones all smiling at you, like u're the most impt person in their lives.










and yes, i officially turned 23 on this lovely day!
wahhaha...

after a few years, ur age all feels the same to me. i feel the same turning 23, as i had felt turning 19 or 20 or 21... -_-''
not sure if this is good or bad. but prob good i guess. i noe many ppl who feels damn old and upset everytime they get one year older.

anyway before i went home to spend my bdae with my family, les brought me out for dinner!!!

oh, just to digress abit. a stoopid-looking photo we took some time back.




so anyway, every year on my bdae, he'll go source for some really good restaurant to bring me to. and he always refuse to tell me where we're going, until we actually arrive at the place itself.

i love surprises!!!! wahahha...

so this year, he brought me to this american place (coz he knows i absolutely heart western food!) on Club Street called Jerry's.




even the decor is supa american-ish. it reminds me of all the cosy homely hostels i've seen back in USA.




he actually wanted to order pork ribs, becoz it's the signature dish there. but i dun really eat pork so in the end we didnt order that. now i'm feeling supa dupa bad abt it, so i just promised him that we'll go back and try the pork ribs haha...

so anyways!




the fried mushrooms are damn freaking nice lar!!!!
and we shared 2 appetizers and 1 main course, and it made us supa dupa full.




he gave me my bdae present aft tat, which are damn nice, and exactly what i needed!

anyway he stayed over at my hse and the next morn we went to botanical gardens to continue my bdae celebration! how nice lar... =)

we went in through the children's garden, because we cant find the main entrance no matter how we search haha...




i didnt noe you have to be a child or at least if you're an adult you must have a child with you to be able to enter... -_-'''

seriously, what kind of stoopid rule is that. i just don't get it.

you know, it's like how you go to a restaurant and you don't feel that hungry so you wanna order kid's meal (what! what's wrong with that!), and the waiter politely tells you, i'm sorry mam, but the kids meal is only for children.

huh!

you don't lose anything by cooking a kids meal for me. be more flexible. argh.
the above happened to me once, and seriously i didnt noe what to say when the waiter told me that.

so anyway i'm frustrated becoz the children's garden look damn fun and colourful and cutsy fr the outside, and i'm NOT allowed to enter! arghhhh...

so we went into the main garden... =)

veryyyy niceee!!!! the lake is sooo peaceful-looking, it reminds me of when my parents used to bring me to chinese garden when i was young... there's a huge lake there too, remember?!?!?! and it will light up during mooncake festival...




so anyways, we were walking around tryin to look for some nice place to have our little "picnic"...




then we saw this nice little pavilion fr afar resting at the top of the slope. it looks damn dingy lar...

i told les to let's just sit on the slope, but he refused to... -_-'''

we had spent the morning before coming over to botanical gardens, shopping for food to pack in the supermarket near my hse.

we had initially wanted to pack sandwiches but we woke up too late and got lazy in the morning, so decided to just get salad, which is damn easy to make. no hassle =)




for ur info, there're tons of pigeons walking around near me. i was half-afraid that one of them will jump on my head or something and peck me till i give up my salad to it -_-'''

and stoopid les refused to chase them away for me.




pink guava fruit juice, cherry tomatoes, honey baked ham, lettuce, tuna, japanese mayonnaise and tons of chilli sauce packets i gop-ed from home (or rather macs haha).




by the way, the baked honey ham was prob the best idea of that morn.
it is so freaking nice can. or maybe coz we're outside eating salad, so by comparison the ham just tastes extremely good haha...

the salad was better than i thought la, must be the jap mayo. that;s the best brand of mayo ever. and the most fattening one too, at that.

i was so worried he'll knock his head on the ceiling or something. eh, it's damn low lor.

anyway after tat, we walked around alittle. didnt really have much chance to explore the nicer side of botanical gardens coz it's pretty far fr where we were. but from brochures, it looks damn freaking pretty!

we shd go back again! to the right side this time =))

exited from the children's garden... and we were lingering around the entrance to the children's garden. i was half hoping we can sneak in haha... but the guards were looking at us, and the moment they caught my eye, they shook their head.

bleah! it's not like i'm going to go in and destroy their garden. i wanna go innnn!!!!!

anyway aft botanical gardens, we went to town, all sweaty and sticky haha...

he wanted to bring me to fish & co for dinner coz it's my fav restaurant (their seafood platter rocks la). but he was behaving damn suspicious in the hour leading up to dinner time.

like for eg, he kept suggesting going to park mall coz he thinks the things there are damn interesting to look at... -_-'''

hello, any normal person will noe that's bullshit coz the things there are damn downright boring (unless i'm supa rich and can afford atas atas furniture haha)... then aft walking ard the boring mall for 30mins and me complaining how boring it is, STILL, he wanna continue walking around.

so i said, i dun care, i wanna go eat already. and when we were nearing the glass house entrance, he started to linger behind, looking around. that was when i noticed ching tryin to hide herself behind a pillar... haha... -_-'''

so next time if you wanna noe who else share the same bdae as you, go to glasshouse on your bdae. haha...

anyway the rolex peeps and the fish & co ppl made me stand on my chair. and yongjia took 4 sparklers for me, when the other bdae ppl only had 1 each. haha...

eh, he wanted to take 30 for me onez lor, but the staff refused to give it to him.

they never fail to throw a bdae surprise for me every year. and to still have frens throw you a surprise when you're already turning 23, i think you all are gems, that i'll hold close to my heart for life!

so anyway after that, we adjourn to cineleisure egaming (you noe, the one on 9th floor).
to play nintendo wiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love that place la! u can book an entire room, and you and all your frens can just go in and shout and scream and be crazy and look stoopid and have the ball of your lifetime playing Wii.






so anyway we had 2 nintendo consoles, which is good coz we had quite a lot of ppl there.
so 1 console if for guitar hero for the first hr and the normal wii games for the 2nd; and the other console is for the normal wii games for both hrs.

it's so nice to see everyone being so crazy and silly and just having fun. =)




and tennis.




the game that had everyone swinging (okay, actually only the girls) the controller really really hard and knocking it against the wall.
i actually think we might have kinda spoil it after that night.




and then boxing. this. sigh. i got no words to describe. when you see how these ppl play this game, you dont know whether to laugh or to cry. hahah...

anyway we had an impromptu guys vs girls, and we won 2-1!

yes, after many years of clubbing and pubbing, i finally went to lunar.
i'm not a supa big fan of chinese pop (i prefer eng) and i cant really dance to chinese songs anyway, but i was supa dupa curious abt this place.

so anyway i met up with siyong, huahui, junxing, kev and cai to try out this cheena place.




their ceiling was lined with photo frames, which was supa unique.

and in case you're wondering, yes 90% of the waitresses and bartenders there are prob PRCs.

i didnt really drink much la. i've been drinking too much recently.


next morn we rushed down from NUS to Changi Airport to send my sis off. coz she's going to India for some community service for 3 weeks.

i love going to airport lar.
1) it's like a totally different world segregated from the reality. this is a place where ppl arrived at, all excited and looking forward to the destination they're flying to, leaving all their "baggage" behind.
2) everyone looks happy and excited and everyone's in a good mood.
3) the place is supa huge and bright and i love bright places.




her frens commented that we both dont look like each other.
i really dont think so. i think she'll grow up to look exactly like me haha...

maybe one day i shd post photos of when we were both young. we look LIKE each other. seriously. when i flip through my childhood photos, i dunno if it's my photo or her photo.




so at night, me and les went over to chjimes coz that guy wanted to watch the arsenal VS man U match. we went to the courtyard there with that gigantic screen.

and oh my god, that place looks fantabulously beautiful.




this is so beautiful lar. really. i love these kinda lights. makes me feel happy and festive-ly.

judging from how close to the start of the match we arrive, i was surprised we can actually get a pretty decent table.

so after that, i went to join my RV frens for clubbing at double O.
see what i mean when i said i've been drinking too much hard liquor.

that night at double O, i drank tons of vodka jugs, 1 vodka shot, 1 barcardi 151 shot (which is so strong it nearly killed me), 3 tequila shots and beer. and we kinda crashed a stag party and took photos with the supa drunk and already gone groom-to-be. haha...

THEN!

the next week, we went double O again. and i drank tons of vodka jugs, burbon coke, 5 tequila shots. and i forgot whatnot.

i need to detox.



met up with the RV peeps for dinner that day. thinking that it was just a mere gathering.

though muggy did kinda let slip that it MIGHT be a bdae surprise for me by stoopidly asking me "eh, this mon dinner is for you onez right?!?" when we were on our way to sentosa the day before. haha... -_-'''

we went to this indian vegetarian restaurant in chinatown. i forgot what it's called, but it's pretty famous. its the restaurant where u go in and order as much as you want (read: buffet!) and pay whatever amount you want. because their earnings will go to building their religious buildings and promoting their religion.

i tot the idea was pretty cool la. and their food is not bad too!

anyway before we met up with the RV ppl, i was shopping at ikea with peiting. and she saw this very "cute" (or rather, what she defined as cute. i kept telling her it was ugly) rat soft toy. brown.

and she insisted on buying it. and as much as i tried dissuading her, she bought it.

so anyway she took it out halfway during dinner and started to show it off around the table. aft everyone ooh-ed and ahh-ed and asked her why she bought it, she satisfactorily placed it next to her.

when we were ready to go, she being her usual forgetful blur self automatically took off w/o the rat soft toy, so me being the usual mischievious self took it, whispered to mark and threw it in my paper bag which he was helping me to carry.

when we went up the escalator to the ground floor, she suddenly shrieked "where's my mouse!!!!!" and proceeded to run down the escalator. and my evil frens didnt even try to stop her. i was laughing too hard to be able to say anything okay. haha...

so this is what happened.




and liyang stood at the top of the escalator with the camera, waiting to snap a shot once she runs back up.




so all of us were standing there laughing, and she kept shrieking at us and asking us if we took her mouse, all the while with mark standing next to her.




even till the bottom right photo when she was staring straight at him, she didnt see that tail hanging out. haha...

i tell u, it's so hilarious. we couldnt stop laughing for like an hr. and SHE couldnt stop laughing for an hr too. hahaha... damn funny lar! in the end she saw the rat's tail lar.

anyway we walked over to swensens aft tat where 2 of my frens were apparently there eating ice-cream. so we were supposed to join them.

and when i step in, i saw this birthday cake on the table lit with candles.

i'm soooo touched!!! this is a supa nice surprise!




and it's a swensens ice-cream cake! it's an expensive cake!!!





mark helped me to cut the cake though... coz it's icecream cake so it's pretty hard.




and with the bestest girl...




we started to play with mark and his rat.






i love this class. they're sooooo sweet to me! =)

and then we found our childhood back with the rat.








i dun think we were this childish actually, when we were still in high school.

hahaha. that night was the best, totally crack me up.

he gave me this too!!! coz i saw it once and i couldnt stop talking abt how cute it is. it's a mini dressing table with a stool and tons of holes all over for u to hang ur earrings. soooo cute right!!!!!
i haven started to use it proper yet. =)

sighs, i really love my life, and everything that i have now, i dun wan a single thing to change.

i've come to realise that recently i'm treasuring and cherishing every single person in my life more than ever, and friendships and kinship and my r/s with les have come to mean even more to me now. maybe it has something to do with starting work, i dunno.

but i guess it's always good (and never too late) to realise how much u shd cherish ppl ard here.
