EVERYONE, PLS PLS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WATCH THIS VIDEO.

I stumbled onto Work and Travel 2008 blogs when reminiscing about my own Work and Travel which was 2007.

and i found this video on one of the blogs...

and watching it makes me wanna tear.

you'll never know how much those 3 months meant to us - the people who actually went on this programme. it's something so precious and so close to heart. you know Richmond took another place in our heart.

i'm really really really happy that i went on this programme. because i know there are some people out there who didnt even have a chance to experience.
but what really saddens me is there'll NEVER be another chance to do the same thing again.

like what i always tell friends and colleagues and acquaintances, those 3 months are the best 3 months in my entire life.

so THANK YOU, whoever you are who created the video.

i really really love it. it makes me wanna create a video for WAT 2007 too.
it really caught the essence of my own experience.

there's this heartwarming feeling inside me when i watched the video. esp when scenes of Kings Dominion and the VCU hostel flashed across. that was our lifestyle for 3 months.

so if any of you are reading this, and have a chance to still sign up for the programme. like what i always say, JUST DO IT!

i can guarantee no regrets, which is what me and lester told our juniors, who eventually signed up too.

it is the best 3 months for me and for all the WAT 2007 people. no doubts about it.
and by the way, some of my good frens today are people i met there. =)

Last Saturday, 23rd Aug

went Clubbing on Friday night to MOS Smoove!!!!!!!!! with my RV frens and fren's frens...

the irritating thing about clubbing is, you always take alot of nice random funny photos.
but then again, these photos are in random people's cameras. and somehow, these ppl NEVER upload on facebook, or NEVER bother sending you.

-_-'''

by the way, i really really really get pissed off sometimes by people who insist on taking photos using their cameras, and NEVER bother taking the effort to send you those photos or upload them. if you're reading this and you're one of them, pls rem it's pretty selfish to do that.

"too lazy lar" is not as excuse. because if you're too lazy, then DONT take photos using your camera. use someone's who will ACTUALLY be nice enough to send the photos over.

by the way, i ALWAYS upload photos for my frens onez.

okay digressed again. yes, as i was saying, we went MOS.
and the music at SMOOVE was soooooo goooooood okay! albeit all the people trying to squeeze into that stoopid little cage. -_-'''
you know if you stand far away and you look at all the people squashed up in the cage, it's actually a pretty funny sight. haha...

anyway everytime i club with my RV frens we leave at an ungodly late hour.
that night, i reached home at 6.30am.
6.30 okay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can take public transport already.
and i think i lost 2 kg that night just dancing. and i think all these dancing i've been doing is taking a toll on my poor fragile knees.

so anyway! saturday i woke up feeling really seh, coz i had to make my way down to Werks in Bugis with my family to take my grad photos. which by the way looks pretty weird to me =(

met up with Les for dinner, and then my JC frens for Timbre!!!!

Timbre's live band that night is really good lar! it's this band called "Good Fellas" and i love the songs that they sang. "Apologize" by the way is one of the nicest i've heard, and i dont care if people said it's overplayed or it's not that nice. i fell in love with that song the first time i heard it on One Tree Hill. hee...

one end of the table :: the other end of the table haha

we ended up ordering an alcoholic drink each (i drank beer of course) and a humongous plate of pizza to share, and buffalo wings, and fried chicken wings and fries. it's supa sinful lar.

but over the last few years, i've learnt that oil and alcohol go really well!

one-tenth of the total damages

and Zhilin came up with this really cool idea, of everyone writing what they feel or think at present, and any thoughts about life 5 years down the road onto a piece of paper, and putting all these into a time capsule, and we'll open it 5 years later.

it's damn cool lar. me and lester wrote something on the same piece of paper.
and all i can say is, i want that. =)

Wendy and Sophie looking all intense haha

some random photos...

me and les

wahz lao, look at my face and his face!
my face looked damn round and huge besides his can!!!!!
when my fren saw these photos, his first comment was

"eh you look like 14 years old lar"

HELLOOOOO!??!!??! got so exaggerated anot!?!??!?!
14 might not even have undergone puberty lar... -_-'''

Wendy, Zhilin and me :: Haikal and Zhilin

and lester's really stoned look...

i tink he's brooding over not ordering the cheap beer that i did. hahahha...

the girls =)) :: my NJ class! well abt half of us hee

the gers were talking abt the trip in NOV!!!!!
i hope it goes through!!!!
i need a break from Singapore.

as much as i love this country of mine. sometimes it gets a tad too boring.
i'm someone who gets bored very easily... hahah...

then most of the clique went home. but coz Haikal very nicely offered to drive me home, a few of us stayed on. wahahha...

Haikal, who very nicely drove me home ahhaha :: me and wendy!!!

Vincent, Haikal and me!

wah lao. my face is damn round.
i think when i eat more, fats go to my cheeks.

anyway i'm glad we stayed on longer that day at Timbre. coz the 2nd set that Good Fellas played was damn nice lar! and everyone in the pub was singing along. i think that's the time when alcohol starts to kick in. hahaha...

i'm going again this Friday!!!!! this time with the Engin people.
and next Friday toooo!!!! with my sec sch frens.

waahhaha. i love my life =)

.
.
.

anyway, that day i was desperately flipping through my photo albums to look for baby photos. coz the finance department has this company function coming up, and we're supposed to submit 2 photos, one of the present you and one when you're a baby.

and these are the few photos that i shortlisted!

according to my mom, this is the photo that they submit for some "cutest baby" contest, which i won by the way!!!! hee...

AND i won a one year's supply of Dumex (did i get the brand right?) milk powder and something else which i forgot what.

BUT this stoopid DUMEX milk powder made me puke for days and nights. and after bringing me to the doctor, he said i'm allergic to this brand's milk powder and i've to stop drinking it.
i rem all these vividly actually which is weird coz you know how you're not supposed to be able to remember anything from when you're younger than 5years old.

and so there goes my one year's supply of prizes. hahah...

according to my dad, this is a very classic photo. coz i'm always crying for food.
okay, THIS i seriously dont rem. hahah...

i tried doing that now. and i realise my waist hurts.

my childhood dream - to go australia.

hahahah...

anyway one thing i very very vividly rem about my childhood is - i ABSOLUTELY hate barbie dolls.

not only barbie dolls actually, DOLLs in general.

hate them to the core. they're not cute at all. they just look damn scary to me lar.
i rem my dad's frens used to buy dolls for me as presents, and i always trottle to the storeroom lugging those huge boxes (i was small at that time ma, those boxes look huge to me) behind me and then pushing them into the storeroom, and closing the door to it.

so my childhood involved playing with soft toys, polly pocket, lego, cars, power ranges, transformers etc... haha... my fav is polly pocket and lego. super cute lar those little things.

anyway photos on Singapore Flyer another day. i tired already haha.

Work has been busy busy busy recently.

I think it's to punish me for complaining to my colleagues that i'm too free during my first 2 months at work. -_-''

as u all will know, i'm someone who LOVES to be busy. i dun mind having my entire day packed with stuff from morning till late late night. of coz some of those "stuff" that pack my day must be enjoyable relaxing stuff lar.

but after being thrown tons of work and being really REALLY busy for the past few weeks, i realise i'm someone who loves to be busy at something that i'm GOOD at. and not something that i not only feel lost and confused, but also apprehensive and unconfident of doing.

i'm still in the transition period, and i've come to realise there's no limit to the number of things that i've to learn on this job. right now, my predecessor is leaving this coming Friday, and next Mon onwards everything's in my court. and it's damn freaking scary just thinking abt it =((

ok work aside!!!
i've been playing alotttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wahahahahaah...
work-life balance ma.

let's see, since my last blog entry,

1) I've been to Singapore Flyer with Lester at a discounted price of $10 each!
2) I've gone to Sentosa and gotten even darker than i am now, not that i'm complaining hee...
3) I've gone Clubbing with my friends at St James where they were playing sucky house music.
4) I've gone to take my graduation family photos at Werks, and they turned out looking really weird and unnatural... -_-''
5) I've gone Clubbing with my friends and my friends' friends to MOS where Smoove is playing really solid good music!!!!!
6) I've met up with my JC clique and gone Timbre where I realise there's this really good band playing there called "Good Fellas".
7) I've met up with dearest Yongxiang wanting to buy a friend's belated bdae gift, but both of us ended up walking around and chatting haha.
8) I've choreographed 3 dances together with the gers at my workplace for a performance we've to put up for one of our company's functions.

so tons of photos to upload!!!!!!!!!! arghhhhhhhh!

and i've got many many things to plan!

1) Sentosa this Sat
2) Lantern Festival drinking session!!!! Yaaaaysss! i don't even have any idea when Lantern Festival is.
3) KTV this Friday!
4) and i'm sorry i know i promised lots of frens to meet up, soon soon!

ANDDDDDD i'm planning a trip with my JC gers. damn excited lar! i hope it goes through. it's a supadupa nice place that my colleague told me about since June!
AND i might be going on a trip with my company. it's a volunteer-work kinda trip. still considering. i'm feeling supa broke now.

okay photos soon. be patient haha.

9th August 2008

was Singapore's 43rd Birthday!!!! oh btw, i'm really proud to be Singaporean. always have been =)

and also the day when me, cai lin, siyong, yuansheng and zhilin went to Ubin for cycling! I haven't been there for eons. The best memory i have of Ubin cycling was when i went with my Guides and Scouts. that was supadupawupa fun lar!!!!!

anyway, we ate lunch at Changi V before going in. the famous Nasi Lemak there, wasnt as great as i tot it'll be. or maybe coz everyone's raving too much abt it. it doesnt really match up to my expectations. -_-''

and so we were soon on the boat on the way there...

the grey skies and turbulent waves

the grey skies made me kinda gleeful tho. i love cycling in the rain. and getting wet is no issue at all... =))

the ride there was a good 15mins so we started to camwhore.

I have no idea what he's doing with his hands. -_-'''

cai and me :: ah yong and me

my hair was in disarray lar... terrible.

anyway those are my new shades!!! which i finally got around to buying after my previous one got smashed while playin beach volleyball...

oh! and i actually met my colleague and his gf on the boat to ubin. how small is the world manz.

and finally, we reached!

Ubin - as i rem it

looks exactly like how i saw it the last time i went. tho i think there was a few more coffeeshops that sprung up near the jetty area.

we rented a mountain bike each - i think it was $8 for the entire day.

us posing with the bikes

we each had an ubin map, and the island was smaller than i last rem... or maybe coz they barricade off some of the forest trails... but anyways, we started to make our way over to Chek Jawa which is the infamous mangrove on Ubin.

Some of the sights we saw while cycling there...

the bottom 2 photos were actually taken fr my fren... i have no idea what animal that is... but it sure as hell look kinda like a dog haha...

and then we saw this well...

which siyong insisted someone must have jumped in long long time ago... -_-'''
it does look pretty scary lar... looked kinda like the well in "The Ring".

Then we reached Chek Jawa, where we had to park our bikes outside before we could walk in. there's this pavement called "Mangrove Boardwalk" where you can see certain sights on the way in.

see those pincers?!
i think those are called mud lobsters or something liddat... cant really rem...

i love those photos above lar... something u'll never see in singapore... or maybe u will lar, prob deep deep inside Bukit Timah Hill or MacRitchie haha...

and somehow the photos on the left reminded me of my camping experience in Selangor when i went abt 2 years ago... superb lar that trip... i want more of those!!!!! =((

us walking on the Mangrove Boardwalk

the Mangrove Boardwalk

Yuansheng and me :: frowning at Jiasheng coz he kept taking my photos hahahha

and i brought my butterfly out to the wilds! hahaha...

seeeeee, despite all the tanning (which the person insist will make my butterfly fade away), it is still shiny and bright! oh for those who dunno yet, the butterfly is a real tattoo OKAAAAYYY!

i rem when i first got it, ppl came up to me and said "eh, fake onez arhz?" and proceeded to rub really hard on my skin thinking they can rub the butterfly away... -_-'''

anyway, we finally reached the end of the boardwalk...

damnnnn nice lar!!!!

tho it reminded me alittle of the jetty at ECP haha...

and more photos of Chek Jawa...

the muddy muddy waters...

more of mud lobsters

they're really really tiny by the way... if not for the colour contrast of their pincers, you wouldnt even be able to spot them...

and this is the tree, that the moment zhilin saw it, he said he's going to go home and draw it haha...

we cycled back to the jetty area, coz at that time it was starting to rain really heavily... and our thighs were damn suan lar... there were so many up-slopes... but everytime there's an up slope, there'll be a downslope.

and seriously, zooming down those slopes at high speed on a bike is damn damnnn freaking SHIOK!

we reached back the jetty just in time before it started to really pour...

i had like splatters of mud and water on my legs, my clothes and my bag... and my hair and face feels absolutely eeekyyy, but i totally love it lar...

when you're cooped up in office mon to fri fr morn till afternoon, outdoors is very much welcomed.

us in front of a coffeeshop

i noe it's not very obvious fr the photos, but it IS pouring. haha...

zhilin and me, while waiting for our hot teh

we ordered hot teh from this small quirky coffeeshop... wah lao damn shiok lar, the hot drink... coz i was practically freezing at that time already. my whole tshirt and shorts was wet...

den me and cai lin kept complaining that we were starving, so we went to another coffeeshop to eat zi char... haha...

the coffeeshop where we saw hell lot of other NUS ppl

the zi char there is damnnnn cheap can!!!! and it tastes not bad too... i think we ordered 2 huge plates of hongkong fried noodles and fried rice, and it cost only $2 per person...

awaiting our zi char

after eating, i insisted on more cycling haha... coz we haven covered the last bicycle trail yet... and i havent had enough cycling for the day lar...

so we got onto the bikes and went on another trail...

we ended up at the beach area, which is not exactly the cleanest you can find, but somehow when i saw it, i kept thinking, how serene...

it's really nice and quiet. and the first thought that came to me and cai was, we shd have a picnic there... haha...

the beach :: our bikes parked there

ah cai and me

we are both damn tanned lar... which is good because i dun like being fair... haha...
ANYWAY! i got that MOOKS top for half-price!!!! damn nice lar... it's supposed to be a guys top but it's so nice i bought the smallest guy size possible...

they refuse to be photographed haha :: the crazy ppl i went ubin with

see what i mean by, how serene

my feet

because cai lin refused to let me photograph her feet. haha...

den stoopid yuansheng cajole cai to climb onto this log and walked to the edge so that we can take a photo of her...

after like 30mins or so of hanging around the beach, and zhilin insisting that there'll be sand flies there, we made our way back to the jetty... amidst all the upslopes that we met on the way...

i think my thighs decreased by an inch after the entire day of cycling... haha...

but i still prefer those forest trails!!!!!!! but alot of them were barred entry, and i couldnt really rem which forest trail i took the last time, so in the end we stuck to the normal trails...

after an entire day of cycling

we were all wet and sticky and sweaty and muddy and smelly, and we boarded SMRT still. hahah...

this cycling trip made me miss trekking and camping and kayaking and tubing and watsnot... basically all the outdoor stuff i used to do before i started work!

if i had a choice and if i was freaking rich, i would haf gone to be an OBS instructor.
and i'm serious.

i wanted to do that during 3 months hols the other time, but the website said u had to commit 6months, which obviously i couldnt so i didnt go for their training prog in the end.

like i said, if i was freaking rich, then i can definitely quit my job and do that.
